I understand the shoulder issue on SWC, I used to load those, however in the S&W 625 using full moon clips (yes clips) SWC bullets slowed reloads horribly. I am using a 200gr rnfp from
http://www.precisionbullets.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so , no shoulder to deal with just length and its relation to pressure. I loaded a bunch to play with tomorrow with 3.8-9 (depending on the metering) with the OAL shortened about 2/100ths. I think it will do well, but only time on the range again tomorrow will tell.
1.20" ???? It's late, I don't have my notesin front of me. LOL

Ok, just got back from firing about 100 rounds using the 200gr LRNFP on top of a light 3.9 grains of Clays. I also reduced the OAL to 1.200 and tightened the crimp a itsy bit. Maybe I am fooling myself, but it sure seemed to burn cleaner. I thought the recoil was more than I wanted however when I ran out of those I switched to my 1911 9mm and fired 50 rounds. It seemed to be about the same amount of recoil maybe even a smidge more. SO I guess the 200gr load isn't doing too bad.
I would like to be able to load the 185 SWC, but if I have to do a fast reload they suck. I know, don't miss won't need to reload. LOL
I'm not real thrilled with the way the Clays meters out on the my Dillon SDB. I sware some rounds have more oomf than others then . I keep checking it as I go, and there never seems to be more than .05 off one way or the other. I know that should not be enough difference to detect, so maybe every now and then one really chokes.
I'm loading some now and taking it down to a solid 3.7 and I'll practice steel with them tomorrow evening. I'll take a brush with me just in case.

Most powders will burn cleaner when they're run hotter (or under higher pressure).
