Sooooo, assuming there is no third party candidate on the ballot who would you vote for? Are you going to write someone in or just not vote? Regardless, a vote for someone other than the republican candidate or not voting is a vote for obama. :nono:

I have to agree. I'd vote for Pee Wee Hermann... or even Mister Ed.

I'm thinking the gift of the Alamo and all of the rest, is the freedom to do what each man wants to do. That includes the right to cast a vote in the manner that seems wisest to him. I don't have to like that decision or agree with it but I will defend the right to do it. :txflag: (Just got swatted upside the head by the wife.....Yes that applies to women as well dear!)

So you are going to vote for someone who has no possible chance of being elected? You're Obama's second most favorite person.
I am voting for the party an candidate I believe in. Why should I compromise? Only a coward wouldn't vote their heart.

It has nothing to do being a coward and that is a very poor choice of words. Unfortunately, life is about compromises. Heck, the primary subject of this website is all about compromise. If it wasn't, we would all carry rifles and shotguns. Casting a vote for the candidate with the best chance of getting Obama out of office isn't being a coward. It is a means to accomplish the goal of getting Obama out of office which most of us here consider to be important. If anyone wants to cast a vote for a candidate who has no chance of winning, they have the right to do so but make no mistake, it puts Obama one vote closer to re-election. Imo, refusing to vote for a candidate with a chance to actually win, is like saying that if you can't carry a custom 1911, you would sooner go unarmed than carry a Glock. The Glock is much better than an empty hand and whoever wins the Republican nomination is better than Obama, imo.

It has been 36 years since Texas gave it's electoral votes to any other party than the GOP, I do not think you have anything to worry about as far as to where your vote in Texas is going.

Personally, I despise democrats and republicans equally, if I want to vote for the candidate that shares the same "values" as me I will vote for them even if they do not have the slightest chance of winning. I will not "compromise" my beliefs for any false prophets.

just my opinion here, no disrespect meant.

...that compares to me giving my last magazine full of ammo to a blind man and hoping the Indians don't get me...and I mean no insult by that...just trying hard to convey that any vote not fired against the enemy benefits him...

Looking at track records and agendas, sometimes it's tough to determine where the enemy is ...
with contradictions in current words/promises and past actions taken on one side, and past covered up and hidden from view on both sides ... it reminds me of a dust storm in a movie ...
Movie- The Hallelujah Trail (1965)

01:13:19 Protect your rear!

Time - Phrase

01:12:41 (woman screams)

01:13:17 (gunfire)

01:13:19 Protect your rear!

01:13:22 Fire!

01:13:27 Protect your other rear!

01:13:27 Protect your other rear!

01:13:30 Fire!

01:13:34 Protect your rear!

01:14:00 Try this! Protect both rears simultaneously!

01:14:14 - It's Indians, sir! - What?

I will most likely vote for a 3rd party candidate such as the Green Party or Democratic Socialists. I voted for Santorum in my home states primary. I wanted him to get the nomination so he would lose easily, not to mention the hilarity of the Daily Show while the election season is going on.

If enough people think like you we won't need to worry about renewing our CHL's.

Why just not vote for Obama? A vote for the person who has no chance of winning the election is a vote not counted for the person who can oust the present looser in office. You might as well just stay at home playing your Xbox and not waste your time going to the polls.

...when a government has become as corrupt as ours has, there are only two ways to fix it:
1) revolution and complete overthrow

2)gradual improvement, election by election

...those that don't realize we can't fix it in just one election, and are willing to throw their vote away on "principle" instead of using it to cut out the worst of the evil first, probably wouldn't stand up for option 1 either...when the revolution began, the colonials knew they were going up against the biggest, best equipped army in the world...logistically, they didn't have a chance to win...they were just sick enough of living under the King that they were willing to die to have a chance at freedom...

...Ideally, I'd like Jesus Christ to be president...but till that happens...someone who has the same concern for us all...however...noone who really has those ideals has the political backing to have a chance to win in this election...so what's the next best thing to work for??? I believe when faced by a pack of hungry wolves...shoot the biggest one first...that might get the attention of the rest of them that this sheep's different and might not be up for being supper...in this election, the patriots of this country should unite(there's that word we haven't used much lately) behind one man who can win against the current office-holder...a resounding defeat would give the rest of our government such a wake-up call as they haven't heard in 40 years or more...and show them that they'd start paying better attention to We the People...then, the next election...cut off another chunk of the diseased government...and so on until we've cleaned it up...it didn't get sick overnight, and it won't get well overnight...like a marriage on the rocks...but step one is to beat the one whose every speech, every state visit, every appointment, and every executive decision sends us closer to collapse and ruin...that is the only cause we can win in this election...and if we don't put our efforts into that...we may not enjoy another presidential election...

...so your option of choice is option 1??? there is no possible chance that any person who doesn't have the support of the GOP can beat obummer this election...none...if you doubt it, put your ideal candidate in a poll and ask the next hundred people you meet...you'll see that it's true...
