Awww come on doc I've seen some of the weapons you have sold on various boards including SETX.com. Sounds like you don't want to afford an expensive .22. Remember you get what you pay for. I remember being like that until I bought my first 617 10 shot. Spend the money and get a good one. I've owned the Taurus 94 and while they are ok they are no way near the quality of a Smith.

Both are DA revolvers.
Thanks, but not close to $300 these days, especially after shipping/transfer fees

I'm just whining and grousing cause I can't afford a Smith or a Colt.
I have a pair of these. One in .38Spl and one .22LR. I think my dad paid around $40 each for them. Collectors Firearms has a .22LR Officer's Model listed for $900.

I regret not buying a Colt Diamondback in .38Spl and .22LR when they were available new.

Ohhh, gee thanks! Talk about rubbing salt on a wound!
:iagree: I didn't even have a wound until I read $40 for the Colts. At least I have a couple of .22 Smiths for salve.

It sounds like the consensus is .22 double action revolvers are NOT SCARCE. Good quality ones for $300 new maybe scarce, but good quality 1911s for $300 new are also scarce. That doesn't mean 1911 pistols are scarce.

I left "In The $300 Range" out of the title due to space issues and added it to the text of my original post.

For clarity: .22 Double Action revolvers in the $300 price range that don't have actions too stiff for a first time shooter (including many women) are scarce.

better? :cheers2:
