Makes you wish burning at the stake was back in vogue.
Huh? You're joking right?
Anyway, I used to frequent that store in Austin and was just in my recent local Walmart in Cedar Hill today practicing my Wallywalk awareness for when my plastic (that was mailed from Austin on Monday) gets here. Guess the Wallywalk just took on a new level of meaning, at least for me.
I'm stunned

To all our active LEOs, please be safe out there! I'm not and have never been a LEO, but this still hurts and saddens me.

"This was a routine call," he said. "What makes our job deadly is that there is no routine call."
Everyone, remember this the next time you are stopped. That officer is more worried than you are about possibly getting a speeding ticket.

Here's the reality:
Really bad things can happen to anyone anywhere at any time.
Just because they don't happen often or haven't happened in a while in a particular place is not evidence that they never will.
There is no such thing as immunity from criminal attack anywhere on the planet.
When people talk about "safe" and "unsafe" places, they're really talking about a perception of how
frequently those really bad things happen there - not whether or not they
can happen.
Folks frequently confuse low frequency with immunity, but it's important to keep the difference in mind when doing risk management planning for yourself and your family.

Why? I'll even light the match if asked. Cold-blooded cop killer, drunk or not, deserves no pity or mercy. He should be grateful I don't volunteer to flay his skin with a cheese grater.
I'm not even sure why I should be the least bit apologetic for feeling that way. That officer could just as well have been my daughter.

While I agree with the sentiment, I think it would be a waste of time and resources to burn someone at the stake, not to mention the mess. Would I like to see the cop killer suffer? Sure. Do I think he's got a special place in hell reserved for him? Absolutely. You are right for feeling that way, I just thought reverting back to such an archaic practice would be counterproductive. But on second thought, I'd be happy to recruit some Aggie Alumni to make sure it's done right.

Personally, I am a proponent for going back to public hangings in the courthouse square. Sentence them. Give them 1 year total for appeals, then hang 'em.

If he got drunk at a bar, I wouldn't be surprised to see charges filed there too.
I won't shed a tear when this guy dies.

Prays for the family of the slain policeman.
Time to ban Walmart.
