The concern I have with Romney is his position on guns, gun ownership, self defense, etc. I admit that I'm not familiar with those aspects of his campaign, but the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts isn't much better than New York as regards those issues.

I don't think that Obama is going to have to do much if he is re-elected. A couple of appointments to the Supreme Court (assuming that he has enough Senate votes to get confirmation) and one test case afterward is about all that it is going to take to erode a decade of gains in gun rights. Just as McDonald was a pivotal case, the follow on will be pivotal in the opposite direction. And all the while, the supply of ammo will be dwindling. I suspect that the EPA lead ban will be back along with several other similar tactics. They really don't need the Zimmerman case at all.

As to Romney, we can only hope. At some point, we all have to recognize that the good people of the People's Republic of Massachusetts, along with their brethren in NY, NJ, CT and most of the Left Coast are the reason that the gun laws there are what they are. I understand that there is a lot of anti-gun propaganda in those areas but there are also strong pro-gun movements that are not getting all that much traction. If the electorate really wanted the gun laws changed, they would be changed. NH is a good example.

FYI: EPA turned down the latest lead ban attempt earlier this week, Monday I believe.

Don't get me started on the ammo shortage. Some of us actually shoot the ammo we buy...as in, we go out to the range and actually shoot to maintain skills, we take classes and work on our skills to be more proficient, we compete, etc. I know several people with much better financial means than I have who are buying everything they can get their hands on in preparation for the impending zombie apocalypse (four more years of Obama may qualify) but rarely, if ever, actually go to the range, take a class, etc. They have safes full of very nice firearms that are spotless and pristine from lack of use and more ammo than they'll personally ever shoot in five lifetimes. I, however, have to search around for WWB for my weekly range trip.

I want to take a CSAT course later this year, and I've already started rat-holing ammo for it since the class will be held after the election.

A rant? Sure it is. I should reload, but that's an investment that I can't handle right now. I'm not looking down my nose at "collectors," either, but some of us take this stuff pretty seriously while others see it as a hobby. The stupid "prepper" reality shows don't help, either.

I have an SEO solution that is very good for regional applications, but is next to useless for national exposure. I'll gladly turn orver SEO to someone else, as I've got a business to run. Also, can I suggest that someone also register secondchanceshootfirst.NET? I registed the .COM name for 5 years and paid extra for privacy, and the sum out of pocket was more than I would care to repeat for a second domain name. Rather than pay more to have it forwarded by the domain registry to NRA.org, since I have my own server, I pointed the domain to my server, set up a domain hosting account on my server, and then stuck a forwarding script in the domain hosting root directory. The hosting costs me nothing since its already paid for by my monthly server leasing fee. If anyone wants to register the dot net name, I'd be glad to host it at no charge. Just PM me and I'll give you the DNS server names to point it to and I'll take care of the rest.

Honestly, I don't think registering .NET is useful. People don't instinctively enter .net in URL names, but the fact that Bloomberg didn't secure the rights to .com just demonstrates the hubris (or stupidity) of that man. That and he has VERY dumb people that build these sites for him (seriously, they didn't even bother with .com?!).

Actually, the Bloomberg domain is secondchanceONshootfirst.org, and he has the .com name for it too. If you go to checonchanceonshootfirst.com you get forwarded to the .org address. The domain I registered is the one steveincowtown suggested: seconchanceshootfirst.com.
