I believe that Ms. Coulter is attempting to show the reasoning behind the Democratic party's original intent to ban guns - she does this very effectively. Irrespective of the 'House shift', the Democrats are STILL the ones attempting to ban guns, without even knowing why, probably.

Go back and take a look at basic political platforms of both the Republicans and the Democrats of a century and a half ago. You will find that much of the attitudes have flip-flopped. Democrats were southern, pro-slavery followed by pro-racial segregation and discrimination, pro states-rights, and strict constructionists. Voting rights were restricted. Republicans were generally the antithesis. Many of these same attitudes are embraced today by the Republicans, living in those same states. Please, don't paint either Republicans nor Democrats with the 1860 brush if you want to compare 2012 political attitudes. It's unfair to both groups. Party names may remain but the belief structures have greatly changed.

This is the ticket. Remember a libtard knows not what they do on an intellectual basis, only on the whim of their heart strings. Taking away guns would make the individual feel good about themselves, that they saved a life. Not the fact that they stopped somebody from balancing the battle ground of an intruder coming into your home with a knife. Guess we could be like the Brits and be required to flee. But isn't that what all that 1700's bull was about? Not being like them or under their control? Being better or dare I say mr oblabla.....exceptional.

You surely are attaching a lot of things to modern Republicans that I'm sure they would disagree with. Pro-slavery, pro-racial segregation and discrimination. I hardly think so.

Again, show me something other than your bias that shows Southern Republicans embrace segregation, discrimination and slavery. I call bull.
If you want to look at policy, I'd say the policies that hurt minorities the most are part of the Democrats party platform. And I'm not painting with a 1860 brush. How about 1960-2012.
How many members of congress were in the KKK and which party do they affiliate with?

Southern Republicans were, generally, opposed to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for starters, as were the old fashioned Southern Democrats. I don't think many modern Republicans favor slavery, at least not that they would admit to. As for discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, well, it's there.

I'm not sure I disagree much with you. There should always have been an 'exit strategy' to get people bootstrapped up and out of welfare. The problem was that at the time, there was a belief that everyone wanted to improve themselves. As it turns out, they weren't, and there is always going to be a group of folks, without relationship to race, who can't cut it and like being poor and stupid.

How many members of congress were in the KKK and which party do they affiliate with?"

.....and during what period of history did this occur?

ScooterSissy, I think we may have a celebrity posting on the board.

Former Obama Green Czar has this to say about Republicans:
On the topic of his political theory, Jones took no time blaming conservatives for many immense wrongs in Americas past.

“You always have some Americans that, they don’t want to go forward. ‘We like slavery,‘ or ’we like segregation,‘ or ’we like women not voting,‘ or ’we like the environment being destroyed, we like workers having no rights, we like children in factories…’And they want to conserve, ahem, conserve, ahem, conserve the old ways.
Van Jones, is that you?

Republicans are closet bigots who long for the good old days of slavery? And your proof? "well, it's there"

You've demonized half of the United States with nothing but your own delusions. Look at the statistics on charitable giving, not only money but time. Look up politicians who have been members in the KKK. Look at who actually furthers programs that are harmful to minorities.

It's not an accident the programs have the results they do.

I guess we could start folks who have held office the past 50 years or so.
But I'm done with this exchange with you, because no matter what information you're presented with you're going to believe your good and anybody from the other political party is evil.

One thing that the drive by media will try to hide from her article is the fact that it was the NRA that helped blacks in the South exercise their 2A rights and protect themselves against the KKK.

:iagree:
The best way to enslave a group of the population is to make them dependant upon government handouts. This is exactly what the Democrats are doing to the black community!

The point is that Ann Coulter does not make that distinction and just throws the "facts" out there for us conservative-leaning readers to jump on and get all excited.

This is somewhat related. Strong stuff, but there is a lot of truth in it.
