$1400 for an Armalite AR 10. Lot's of folks use the AR name but Armalite is the only AR10.
Others are knock offs. Now not all of those knock off's are inferrior. In fact many with up grades etc adre far better than the rifle I own. This ais a basic model and runs $1400. Take any of the $3000+ weapons and their better than mine.
But Armalite is considered cadilac of the AR's without upgrades. But any manufacturer you buy and be upgraded as far as you want to go. This is a 16" carbine chrome plated barrel. It's lower end. The pictures I saw on this thread have some match grade barrels and will out shoot my weapon all day long. Sorry, I have to resize this image.

mikey1969, one thing to be aware of when you do get around to shopping for AR10s is that they are not nearly as standardized as AR15s. For instance, any AR15 magazine will fit into any other AR15 of the same caliber. But not all AR10s use the same magazine. Rock River Arms AR10s use the same magazines as FN FALs. Not even some of the smaller parts are exchangeable between manufacturers. So you might want to take that into consideration when you buy. I don't know about the Armalite brand rifles, but I do know that the DPMS rifles take the standard SR25 GI magazine. So don't let those variances stop you if you really have your heart set on a particular rifle, but just be aware that these things may affect the price and availability of aftermarket or replacement parts, particularly magazines.
Before I bought mine (actually, I took it in trade it for a very nicely set up M1A I had put together) I had my heart set on the RRA Standard Operator. Nothing wrong with the RRA, but I'm glad I made the choice that I did. The rifle I wound up with is configured more in the SASS role, while this particular RRA would seem to fill the same role as a FAL, i.e. a battle rifle in a manly caliber. Regardless of configuration, when you've got a AR platform rifle in .308, you've got a very substantial weapon.

They use modified M14 mags, though they're making an AR-10A variant now that's compatible with PMags.

Check out the Colt CM901 if it hasn't been posted already.
Its a modular platform so you can buy different uppers and shoot .223 6.8 x39 and .308

Just an Armalite AR-10 upper goes for $825, and out of their usually large inventory, they only have A2 styles left at that price. Then try to find a AR-10 lower, that is just as hard. Get what you can now because they might just get more scarce.
