A year ago I would have agreed with you. Now I think a well publicized instance of target selection error would quite likely result in protests, threats, a very special prosecutor, and Obama saying the attackers look like his illegitimate sons.

This may be correct but it should not stop you from ventilating someones carcass. If enough carcasses get ventilated the protests, threats, special prosecutors, and Obama will all go away.

You misread.
The ones that need ventilating are the ones doing the punching. Yes, if you ventilate enough of the thugs the others will go away.

Very hard what I would do in that situation. If my thinking was on an even keel I would
#1 keep as much distance between me and the prep’s.
#2 turn and run if possible.
#3 I just don’t know.
I think shooting might be justified if you were my 90yo 145lb. father or maybe for myself at 63 yrs. Old and 135 lbs. But I also think we, as well as you younger and more physically fit folks might be in deep trouble shooting an unarmed person.

But those younger more physically fit would be alive.
