Good to know Andy. I just happened to find a local Glock armorer who is a regular member on this forum so I'm going to take it in and have the ejector replaced.

Speaking of brass in the face, when I did the shooting part of my CHL class I was getting peppered by brass from both the shooters on my left and right. I know this being hit at least 20 times caused me to pull my shots off to the side. I mentioned this to my CHL instructor, and his reply was "Don't worry about it, you passed"

Way back in 62 when I was in the ARMy and on the shooting range, after firing the first round out of my M1, the brass came directly back and hit me in the forehead. I had a burn and bruise. Being hit by flying hot brass is not fun.

I have not seen any Glocks that ejected brass back into one's face.

They did pinpoint the problem, when making the gen 4 the first wave used the same ejector as the gen 3 and since the gun was a little bit different this caused the guns to eject differently throwing the brass in your face, they figured it out and the new ejector has a different bend to it making sure that the brass will eject to the side, so enjoy your gen 4 and carry with confidence once you install the new ejector she'll run like a charm

I have the same issue with my Gen3 G19. I attributed it to poor grip or recoil management. Figured I needed more practice but after a few hundred more rounds it doesn't seem to change. After a little online searching I guess it's not an uncommon occurrence, but the validity of the claims are disputed by the "Glock gurus" on various forums.

Supposedly to fix it on gen3 models (a certain serial range are affected) you replace the ejector with the gen4 version. Odd.

Imagine what it's like for a left-handed shooter, updated ejector or not, and not just the G19

I have a Gen4 Glock 19 as well. Mine came from the factory with the "this will fix it" ejector.

I have over 1000 rounds through the gun so far (even cleaned it twice ) with a bunch of different ammo, usually whatever is cheapest when I hit the store.

I've had exactly 2 pieces of brass land on top of my head. No failures of any kind. Sure, a brass shower is mildly annoying. But when it happens less than .1% of the time and the gun keeps working, I haven't been too upset by it.
