Very sad. RIP.
Yeah I was reading about them; quite a few got executed for not converting to Islam in the past.

Date, Date, Date......
That Huff Post article is from 4/26/2011.
But I agree it is a fine example that guns are not the problem. Thanks!

That was the object of my post, not any special relevance to the recent shooting since the shooter wasn't identified as being a Sikh.

There's a pretty big difference between a Sheik and a Sikh...isn't there?

Indeed. I was thinking more along the lines of Arabia Shrine when I saw the Sheik Temple subject line.

Thanks.
I edited the OP to correct that.
Breaking news at the time of post and I did not pay enough attention to the correct spelling.

A post I made on NBCNEWS.COM in response to all of the hateful and deceitful post found there.
It amazes me that immediately after a tragedy such as this, people start blaming gun owners and the Tea Party for this horrific event. Once again you have shown that those who claim to be tolerant ad understanding of all, are no more that hypocritical, hateful and deceitful. We know nothing about the alleged gunman, but people are already "speculating" that he is a Tea Party member? You spew lies as if they are fact and ridicule anyone who disagrees with you! Well, you can continue your hate, and America will continue to support those whose freedom of speech you try to stifle. You took a hateful stance against the owner of Chick-Fil-A for answering a question about his beliefs, and America stood up against you. Even if they disagreed with the opinion, they still stood to support his right to it. You see, unlike the extreme left wing liberals, the average people of this country stand beside each other to defend their First Amendment right. We do not look down upon people that we disagree with or try to have them quieted!
As far as gun control goes, do some research. I have. Those countries, states, counties and cities who have enacted very stringent gun control laws, have actually shown rather large increases in crime. While you may not like to hear this, it is true and can not be discredited. A wise man once said "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns!" Like it or not, it is the TRUTH and has proven true around the world.
Yes, I am sure you can tell by now that I am in fact a gun owner, and have a Concealed Handgun License in the great State of Texas! I am also the father to five wonderful children and husband to the most wonderful woman I have ever met (who also holds a CHL, GASP!!!!) My children are taught gun safety, and my guns are kept secure from them! Those of you who do not teach your children gun safety are putting them in far more danger than I am by having firearms in my house, and yet you ridicule me? Your children may one day be at a friends house who does have guns, legally or not. You say "well, I wont let my kids go to anyone's house who has guns!" Good luck with that ;) Most firearm accidents involving children are due to the "WOW FACTOR" They or their friends have never seen a gun, and are logically curious, so they begin messing with it, and then we are burying yet another precious child!
So you want to talk gun control? Gun control starts with learning how to control a gun! No, I do not believe that everyone should own a gun. I do think, however, that anyone who owns a gun should learn how to safely handle it and secure it. Those who do not legally own guns could care less about firearms safety, and are the ones who typically have the negligent discharges, harming themselves or others. They are also the ones who ignore the "NO GUNS" signs.
So continue with your lies and hatred for anyone who doesn't agree 100% with you and I will continue to support and recognize the First and Second Amendments to the Constitution of these United States of America!
