I sent my stainless Mini-14 to this guy and had a new barrel, tunable gas block, and indexed stock fitted.

I own both platforms (mini14 and AR)and each has their place/usefulness. I have the target variant of the mini 14 and it is primarily used for coyote and prairie dog eradication out to about 300yds... It is heavy but manageable, and if I do my part and use quality ammo it will group at less than 3/4 inch at 100. The mini is a rugged reliable rifle. I still shoot my dads on occasion mfg date of 1976 and it has never jammed or had a failure of any kind mechanically. I have seen several failures due to operator error.

:cheers2: enjoy your mini

Well you have to go out an buy or rent this movie: The American

He spends most of the movie making a Mini 14 as sexy as any AR

Any discussion of the effectiveness of the Mini 14 would need to include the infamous 1986 Miami FBI shootout, where the BG's unfortunately had a Mini 14.
