Cheaper, easier and no less effective. A handfull of jihadis, some rifles and grenades. Simple. If you read reports of the Mumbai attacks they were far from random and had very precise centralized control. The attacks were intricately planned. They utilized cell phones, the web and a control center to monitor police activity (and shift away), during the attacks as well as to identify specific key targets, etc. That allowed a relatively small group (around 10 men) to hold a potion of the largest city in India hostage for close to four days. Oh, and they were also reported to be state sponsored...ClarkLZeuss wrote:His mention of "Mumbai-style attacks" is exactly what I think might hit us. Much cheaper and easier for AQ to arrange that than some other "spectacular" attack.AlphaWhiskey wrote:Similar thought process to the OP posted here: http://sofrep.com/11430/it-has-begun-a- ... -strategy/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thought provoking if nothing else.
Clark, I agree with you there is a good chance we might see something similar on US soil (and I pray there will not be). The reference to a "night of 1000 jackals" resonates with me.
