Small target, very tough to hit with bullets, bullets would hit the ground and may cause collateral damage.
It was a small message to the Israelis that there is potential of sneak attack from the rear end where Israel do not expect.

The Israelis also sent a message that they will shoot down aircraft that invade their airspace.

Seems like email would be cheaper and safer.

My remark was supposed to be sarcastic.

My point is that Israelis were justified shooting the drone that invaded their airspace. Such a message can not be sent with an email.

Seventeen sailors were killed and 38 wounded in the attack, which was carried out by two suicide terrorists alleged to be members of Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda terrorist network. Six men believed to be involved in the Cole attack were soon arrested in Yemen. Lacking cooperation by Yemeni authorities, the FBI has failed to conclusively link the attack to bin Laden.
