Incorrectly displayed, but otherwise legal?

good point about if the menu is already on the table, or you order without getting a menu (just toast n coffee please) and no waitress hands it to you
also
is the waitress handing out menus ...
"the owner of the property or someone with apparent authority to act for the owner"
?
http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/D ... /PE.30.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
maybe they are; if it's actually printed on the menus and their job is passing them out, I'd say yes-> apparent authority to act for the owner
but if no waitress hands it to you ... I didn't look at the back to see the breakfast special because I didn't want breakfast ...

WHOA! This has been a FALSE ALARM.
I just talked to Mr Melvin Morgan, one of the partners owning Risckys. I told him the restaurant has been reported on Texas3006.com and here on the forum. I thought it was weird where the sign was and wanted to clarify it was not a mistake. He was concerned and could not believe there would be a posting. He is not opposed to CHL carry and he stated the other partner is pro-carry. I described to him the signage is reported to be located in the bar area of the Exchange location. He put me on hold and checked on it right away. When he returned to the phone, he reported it is whatever sign given to them by the TABC and is supposed to be the BLUE sign. A check of TABC's website confirms license #MB234422 is for a Blue sign. He and the other owner do not want the restaurant posted against carry at all. He will be looking into this to make sure it is resolved.
We need to get a picture of whatever is posted at that location to clarify.
So, Riscky's is Pro-CHL after all
Wow, I suddenly have a hankering for some BBQ!
Mod's can we get something added to the top of this thread for those who won't read down this far? Mr Morgan was awesome and I hate to see them lose one dime of income from some misunderstanding.

I was at the Stockyards in Ft. Worth last weekend. I left my carry in the car because I knew that I was going to have a few beers.
We ate dinner at Riscky's Steakhouse. I did not see a sign when we went in the joint, but noticed that they have a 30.06 sign posted at the bar. The English version is on the left side of the bar, the Spanish version on the right... The sign was at least 1" letters in the standard white background and blue lettering. The language was correct as well.
Shouldn't the sign be at the entrance so that you don't enter the bldg then notice it?? I was with family from out of town, so I did not talk to the management about it, but it did seem odd.
Has anyone else seen this?

Re: Incorrectly displayed, but otherwise legal?
I believe it has a bar area like a lot of restaurants do. The OP wasn't armed as he sat in the bar area, but did notice the sign(s). I don't know if the TABC sent the wrong signs to the restaurant or he mistook the sign, but the partner I spoke to called that location and had them confirm to him it is not a 30.06 sign while I waited on the phone. He confirmed clearly that the restaurant is not posted against carry and their license is for a blue sign not the 51%.

I think the restaurant owner was just confused about TABC vs 30.06 signs.

Re: Incorrectly displayed, but otherwise legal?
I recall right after getting my CHL years ago, I went in a restaurant in San Antonio, saw a blue sign, returned to my car put my gun in the car, went back in the restaurant, read the sign, went back to the car, got my gun again, had a great meal

Re: Incorrectly displayed, but otherwise legal?
Some body needs to go to the restaurant bar, take a pic, and post it so we can see for sure which sign it is. If it's a 30.06 or 51% sign, then that is a mistake.

Re: Incorrectly displayed, but otherwise legal?
It was removed since it was confirmed as not a 30.06. If it is re-confirmed that it IS a 30.06, then it will be added back.RPB wrote:ok, it isn't listed on http://texas3006.com/view.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Incorrectly displayed, but otherwise legal?
Just catching up with this thread....
As the OP, I can tell you that it was at either side of the bar, and the language was identical to 30.06.
I have not been back there, and I didn't get a picture. Sorry.
I AM glad that it was a mistake. I thought it was kind of strange just because it was the Stockyards. I know that doesn't really mean anything, but that is TEXAS down there, ifyuhknowwhuttImean. :D
Thanks for calling and clearing it up. I will do that myself next time.
