Depends whether he's using bottom picatinny or not. LaRue version requires picatinny to slide on and install 2 retaining clips. This would add weight (as would picatinny to mohnt a Magpul AFG). The Glock pinky rest installs with small screw/nut bolt thru an opening in non-picatinny foregrip (have mine on a Magpul MOE plastic fore end). The major weight savings is by not adding extra picatinny rails to smooth fore ends just to mount the handstop.
