Kershaw Blurs are great but if you can spend a bit more I'd recommend the Zero Tolerance 0350 at around $110.

And if you can stretch to $200 or just over, the Zero Tolerance 0300/0301/0303 knives are exceptional knives for the money. I EDC a ZT0301 and have several others in that family and they are worth every penny, and ounce.

All depends on your budget !!

I must post an update and add a REALLY good reason to go with spyderco. As i stated i love my benchmades and my spydercos. Recently, the main pivot torx screw had worked loose on my spyderco tasman salt and it disappeared. I contacted spyderco this morning via their contact us link on their website and described what had happened and inquired how to procure the part I needed.. With in 3 MINUTES, I had a response fron Charalynn stating that i would be receiving the part I needed. WOW, avsolutely the fastest response I've ever received regarding product support. I would be a die hard even if their product wasn't fantastic, it just so happens that it is! No disrespectful dribble bout when and where purchased, etc. Just short and sweet, it's in the mail. Great job Spyderco!

When I recently bought a carry knife for my son, we went to GT Distributors here in Austin. They have a large selection and the person taking care of us was very helpful. Being able to compare how each feels in the hand, the opening method, and how each fits in the pocket makes choosing much easier.

I'm fond of the China-made Kershaw's (blaspheme). They are simpler to use and cheaper than the US made counterparts, you can find them for below $15 and they last until I end up losing them (haven't had one break). I also carry a streamlight Stylus light in addition to that in my front strong side pocket. That said, if you want a hip-knife or hip-light, look elsewhere.

I also don't care for Tanto blades very much, the only benefit I've experience with them is cutting fabric or thin plastic with the sharp corner of the blade ( I guess they also look real tactical ).

I carry a Benchmade Griptilian 3.5 inch which is almost exactly in your price range. It is a really good sized knife that really fits your hand well. The grip is really comfortable and not too skinny.

My last knife was smaller and flatter, but I did not like how it felt in my hand.

I have the Benchmade Emissary. It fits my needs very well.
