I was issued a Bushmaster with all the hot rod equipment hanging off of it. That prompted me to get a regular Bushmaster M4A2 style carbine, which I liked much better. The one I'm building now will be a 20" rifle with iron sights and a detachable carry handle. I'm a huge fan of simplicity.

I've built two M-4geries from lowers plus parts kits. Using the video and instructions found on AR15.com and elsewhere, they went together with few snags and very little cursing. The second one was easier, of course.

Few experiences with inanimate objects are more pleasing than to take your newly built weapon to the range, have an experienced Marine armorer look it over, pronounce that all the pieces that move ought to, and none of the ones that aren't supposed to do, then load and pull the trigger to have it go "BANG!"

It's so easy, even a lawyer can do it!
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
