If it matters to you, I found a discussion over on glocktalk with pictures of a guy using his smartcarry and a Glock. The pictures are at the last post on this page:

Raise it up a bit; the grip should be behind your belt at the lowest. You'd be amazed at how much grip your shirt front will cover, and with it positioned right, you should be able to manage a fairly quick draw, and even a passable one-handed draw.
There are all sorts of excuses you could use to cover the reach, too. Anything from severe gas to just pulling your pants up.

You know... that just might make me buy one to try. I was under the impression that the pistol had to be below the belt.

This post has been a hoot !
FWIW Ol' Charlie @ Smart Carry
packs a full size Ithica 1911 in his
Smart Carry.
I wear mine a bit low but it is
comfortable as such.
To draw is no problem with
2 fingers as instructed.

Well, of course not. Would you
really want to carry a no-external-safety Glock down there amid folds of cloth with all sorts of bending and stooping and sitting going on?
(Actually, I've carried my G27 that way many times, but...just don't try to draw
too fast.)

Depending on you clothing choices, it may try to slide down over the course of a couple hours, but if you're staying hydrated, it will be time for a potty break by then anyway.
I've kept the grip of a compact at or above belt level for three games of bowling with a tucked shirt and no grip actually showing, so it can be managed. Full-size can be more comfortable when allowed to ride down lower, though. Think MIchael Jackson for raising it up to the draw position in that case.

TIN BENDER wrote:I just rec'd 3 new SMART CARRY HOLSTERS from ol' Charlie Parrott in Florida.
I ordered XS for my NAA Guardian 380 ; S for the S & W 642 ; and he recommended a Med. For the SIG 239 - .40 .
I didn't even notice the quantity before; I'm surprised he didn't suggest just buying the largest size you'll need and adjusting it for the others via a safety pin.
I bought the large for my Govt Model, then found a perfect spot to pin it just in front of the 1911's trgger guard, where it would hold a Bersa Thunder .380, 4"M&P .38, or a Taurus 605 just right without any further adjustment. After looking it over a bit, the PT-99 would likely be a good fit if I moved the pin up about a quarter inch, but that's getting awfully bulky for the location.
OTOH, now you have two you can loan to skeptics...just make sure to wash them when you get them back.

I have used one for my KelTec 32 for a while, but took some time to get the guts to put a no safety in that area. I have never had any issue, I don't have my 32 anymore I carry my 45. However I am thinking of getting the 380 for summer shorts carry.
Just think if you are carrying there and can not pull, just make sure they kick or hit you there and you are covered

I really didn't know much about them @ purchase.
Charlie recommended these for each gun I carried
so I went ahead and bought the 3 sizes that filled my need.
MARKETING ' Right?
Anyway there is a significant difference in the amount of
cloth between the XS and Med.
A saftey pin WOULD work but comfort might have
been compromised.
I have purchased and tried different holsters
but I keep comming back to the Smart Carry.
I would like to see Charlie's Ithica 1911.
He is a lot of fun to talk with and I encourage
anyone who's thinking about a different method
of Carry to give him a call.

Mail is running slow these days! All the carriers must be on summer vacation. Ordered my smartcarry on May 9. Still hasn't arrived. State claims they mailed my instructor packet on May 10, still hasn't arrived. May go shopping this weekend for a quality IWB for my PX4 Storm 40 cal. Anyone know of good selections in the DFW area? Close to Grapevine, preferably.
