It's long, but I linked it on my social media sites.
He could've just stopped after this paragraph:
I am an American. As such, none of my rights depend on a showing of need. I am a free man who has the right to define and pursue my happiness any peaceful way I see fit. The government does not grant me rights. I was born free. The legitimate role of government is to act as my agent to protect my rights; which exist independent of government. Americans do not beg the government for rights nor are they required to demonstrate a "need" for rights.

Let's see, Ted and his car killed one girl (that we know of) That would be 1 for 1 or 100%. There are 315 million people in the US. 300 million guns. There are around 7,000 gun related murders a year. Now that can be manipulated any way you want but it is still going to come up less than 1%.
The 7,000 does not include police shootings or self defense shootings. The sad truth is if you subtract democrat shootings you would be at around 1750 for the entire country.

There were 518,625 CHL holders in Texas in 2011. Four were convicted of murder. So 99.00033% of Texas CHL holders did not murder anyone in 2011. AFAIK there are no statistics kept on justified killings. According to the Houston Chronicle there were 48 justified killings in 2010, but they don't say how many of those were CHL holders. Assume they all were and assume further that the number was the same in 2011. That means 52 people who held CHLs killed someone (justified or not) in 2011 or 1/100th of 1% of CHL holders. I think "for most" qualifies as a conservative statement in that context.texanjoker wrote:As with all the gun control stats that can be manipulated to say whatever one wants. The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. James Madison
