IMO, the blogs are still based on the same hearsay story. I believe it's true, but for business reasons, not for political ones.

I hope Walmart is not kowtowing to Washington. That doesn't sound like them.

It looks like they're afraid of getting stuck with inventory they could be forbidden to sell and most likely can't return to the vendor. Walmart watching its bottom line and counting pennies? That sounds like them.

The frightening thing to ponder is: was anything said in their special meeting with Biden that made them fear such a scenario, or are they just reacting to the uncertainty?

Could Biden be about to propose NICS checks for ammo?

well, we will see what happens as they start hearing from their customers. I emailed them to ask if the story was true when I first saw a post about the guy who recorded the call. I did not give an opinion or say anything, just asked if the stories were true.

If they respond, I will let you all know. I will also let them know my opinion of what they are doing. I think if they get enough people questioning the policy it will get changed before we get answers saying it is true.

This ain't good... I don't shop at Walmart, but this means people are going to flood the other stores where I purchase ammo...

Not the end of the world, just the end of the easiest access to ammo.

The 10pm thing has been in place for at least 5 years.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if walmart is enacting policies to deal with the shortage of ammo and volatile demand. It would even make sense for them to wait till the administration makes clear their proposals (which likely will not affect in store ammo sales) so that sanity can return and they can better gauge demand over the time period in which they could possibly get ammo on the shelves. Write your congressman, join the NRA, and stop the panic.

So that means I literally have no reason to go to a Walmart. I guess thats a bad thing...

Hasn't been practiced in Ellis county for 5 years. Not even half that. Can't speak for other places.

I haven't yet been told that I can't buy ammo past 10pm, though at that point its pretty hard just finding someone to open the case. My last late night run I was told that that register is emptied and locked up at night but they could walk the ammo to the front for me and I could pick it up there.

Bought 500 rds of WWB at my local Walmart today. The manager was behind the counter (usually not the person behind the counter at this Walmart). She assured me that ammo was coming in daily and orders were being placed to restock the shelves.
I mentioned the rumors on the Internet and she again assured me that orders were being placed. Also let me buy as much of the 40 as I wanted (I left a few boxes).
Maybe Walmart has heard/felt the backlash and shifted their ill advised policy.
