74% of respondents support some or all of president's gun violence plan

I don't trust poll you don't have to register for. You can go vote in the poll, clear you internet history, refresh the page and vote again. The poll doesn't track voters, it tracks how many times the little button is clicked. I bet CNN has some interns in there doing that over and over again clicking all.

Voted (once) in the poll, such as it is. The overall percentages may or may not be a correct representation of those who have voted. There are a LOT of uninformed, emotion-driven folks out there. Thus the emphasis on quickly pushing for these measures before cooler heads prevail. The dog and pony show is already begun with the intent of keeping the emotions high and shouting down sane debate and measures.

I voted "all"...

There are 20 dead kids. That's just plain wrong.

Anything less than a real attempt to get at the root of this problem is wasting time.

I'm not some nutter that thinks Obama's gonna take our guns away, but there has to be a way to restrict ownership to potential ticking bombs.

And this might not be the popular opinion, but the NRA has zero credibility here.

Why is that? You're saying the dead kids don't matter?

I always thought the NRA should have gone to the press conference and stated " I'm not really sure why you asked me here. You have a mental heath issue. This is not one of my areas of expertise." and walked away from the podium...

I don't get what you're saying. What's Bush got to do with it, 'cept the coincidence that he was born in Connecticut?

I don't know if "blame" can even be laid. It's really a failure of the whole system. The shooter went crazy, and only the mom would have known. I do fault her for having accessible weapons if she knew the kid was off, but in all likelihood, she probably never thought he'd lose it like that.

But yeah, drugging all the kids has something to do with it, as does society ... and ..... a gunfree defenseless victim zone. One mane's GunFree Zone is another s shooting range.
