Ever set off your alarm system accidentally?
If so, did you get sick?
Lol, no I never have had the pleasure but I've dealt with the sirens and strobes enough at a distance to know it will not be pleasant.

any safe that weighs less than 750 pounds should be firmly secured to the floor.
And the fewer folks that know of its existence, the better.
Congrats on the new toy.
My safe weighs in at 1200 pounds empty and the guy that sold it to me worked very hard at convincing me that it should be bolted down. Watching two guys maneuver it into position with very little effort convined me. I told them I would pay the extra fifty bucks if they would bolt it down for me. They did it at no additional charge.
One of the issues not often discussed on this forum when talking safes is fire protection. Protecting our valuable weapons in a fire is every bit as important as protecting them from theft. My safe is a brand called AMSEC. I bought it a few years ago. It has a material around the door that expands when exposed to heat, sealing the safe and making it air tight. The fire rating is something ridiculously high. I don't want to get off my rump and check but I think it is rated at one and a half hours at 1500 degrees. I really don't think my house would burn that long and my safe isn't located near the center of the house.
There is a great thread on safes with links to different manufacturers on the forum.

Is there one brand/model considered the holy grail of gun safes?
If so, what's the next one down the list?
There are so many out there, I've become paralyzed with analysis...

My Bride and Children pooled their funds and got me a Graffunder for Christmas 2 years ago. It required the movement of my "Den" to a first floor location(it is a brute). Be careful with small pistol safes as several were shown to be easily opened by a 3 year old with a butter knife. I think Forbes had and article that covered testing of 10 or 12.
I had trouble opening your link. Here is a link that includes your site:

I have a safe. It is bolted to the floor. I use it. I have an alarm system. I use it.
That said, while most of my guns are in the safe, there is always more than one loaded gun here and there around the house during the day. At night, they come into the bedroom with me. That would consist of two pistols and (currently) a shotgun......on my side of the bed. You'll have to try and break in to find out what surprises my wife has for you.......and she's meaner than I am.

Here is that thread I was speaking of earlier. There is a whole lot of good info here.

As for a "holy grail of gun safes"? Many lay claim to this. I researched several different criteria and tried to settle in an area I could afford. Like I said, fire protection may end up being as important as theft. I don't think any safe is absolute in any category. Most safes can be broken into given the right amount of time and the right tools. Most will only last a certain amount of time before the contents burn in a fire. How much you spend will usually determine how much time you are buying on either front.

I have a Browning safe I bought about 25 years ago.
Weighs in at about 1200 lbs. It took 3 guys about an hour to muscle it into its current location.
I agree with a respondent who said if you own guns, you should own a safe. No point losing control over a firearm.
You wouldn't leave the keys in your care when you park it at Mavs game would you? Same difference.
