If it makes you feel any better, the media is nearly always wrong about everything, not just guns.
And that's why if you ever have anyone from the media ask you to comment or want to interview you or in any way have anything to do with you - tell them "No Thank You" and keep moving away from them.
Some years back an awful thing happened to a distant relative. It got on national news. Some of the media big names DEMANDED interviews. Actually threatened my relatives if they continued to decline to be interviewed. My relatives told them to go ...
Without naming names (you'd immediately recognize them) that experience for me was the last straw regarding anything these unethical slugs want.
Keep them at bay.
