16 days mailbox to mailbox in July, 2011.

I just got my license in hand today 30 Mar 2013. Took 69 days from the time Texas CHL had my paperwork. I took my CHL course 12 Jan 2013, they received my packet 21 Jan 2013.

Using Snail Mail, 28 days....mailbox to mailbox.

Mine took 78 days. Mailed completed packet Feb 1....received plastic in mail April 20. I had hair when I mailed it....not so much today.

Mailed all required docs around Feb 22,2012 received plastic in hand April 18, 2013. So overall about 55 days total.

56 days- mailbox to mailbox.

Im 56 days in so far and DPS has yet to enter my info into the system.

Just to give my experience for timing expectations..

I dropped my stuff in the mail 2/13/13. Took about a month for them to show it as "received" online. I just received it in the mail today. 71 Days.

My DL expires next month and shortly after they showed it as received I got a letter for my DL renewal advising that this year I need to go in to renew to get a new picture. A guy on another forum I frequent said that they used his DL picture rather than the ones he sent in which got me to thinking they may have been waiting to see if I would renew my DL so they could use that pic. I still have not done that, and the CHL has the pic I mailed in, so not sure if that was a factor in the time.

I am also a Veteran and had to send in my DD214 to justify the reduced fee. So maybe that was a factor as well..

Either way I am happy I finally have it in hand, and all things considered I won't complain about the wait.

Mine was 37 days, mailbox to mailbox in May of last year.

I submitted mine in June of last year and what plastic in hand 42 days later. I tell you what checking paperwork status is the best way to commit your DL number to memory.

54 days. Mailed packet 4-1-13. Plastic in hand 5-25-13.
