A long drop with a sudden stop in his home neighborhood (maybe even televised) should drive the message home.
As long as it is attached to his family jewels the first time. Brings a whole new level the game hangman.
Enjoy the joviality, but the death penalty or torture has never worked as a deterrent, doesn't work, and never will.

I wasn't looking for a deterrent. Just a way to make the individual suffer.

Relatives say they were framed and at choir practice when the crime occurred (not really, but giving alibis).
Also there were multiple comments on one of these sites about the baby's mother being "phony" because she gave interviews. Unfortunately it's rather common now to have friends or relatives of the suspects post this kind of garbage on news sites. We've even had it in this forum.

In this case I think he maximum allowable penalty should be imposed. No tears, no second chances. They killed an innocent in cold blood they deserve everything they get and more.

The mom and dad, whose baby's life was taken by vicious and barbarous thugs, did indeed give interviews...but they look pretty distraught, as one would expect under such heinous circumstances. "These are the times that try men's souls".

In Texas at 17 you are criminally an adult.

Made national news on TV this morning along with a sign that fell on a family and killed a 10 year old at the Birmingham Airport.
I did find out how they found the two BG's so quickly. Town has 15,000 people apparently very low crime place. Found out all the kids that were not in school that day, took the woman's description and bingo, they had the shooters. Smart police.

I think they should change the juvenile system so crimes against a person are tried as adult by default. Make a new process to allow a petition to move prosecution to the juvenile system, if the actor is under 17 and there are extenuating circumstances that justify it.

Lawyer says his client is 1000 percent not guilty.
I suspect the 15 year old will finger the 17 year old. Then its all over. They won't get to blame each other because I assume the mom will also be able to identify the shooter. In fact she picked this man out of a 24 picture line up. Oh yeah, he dropped out of alternative school in 2011.

That is their job. If you ever need a lawyer, you don't want one that says, "Nyeh, my client is schlump."
That said, the mug shot makes me glad this creep is 1,000 miles away, whether in jail or out.

Words cannot describe the horror of this story. But as bad as the (alleged) criminals are, their families are a thousand times worse. How could anybody with even a shred of morality attempt to shield or excuse such an atrocity???
On a related note, my wife needs to get off her duff and get her CHL....
