Time to trade it in. How about a good 1911?

Jbird - If you decide to replace the extractor, then a good source for Glock parts and accessories is:
http://www.lonewolfdist.com/ ... that is per the Marty.

Believe me, I've tried.
In all fairness, he does have a very nice Springer.

I know what you REALLY meant to say.

If you went to a GSSF match the Glock armorer would replace it for free. That is one of the benefits to attending a GSSF match, besides the prizes.

Did you close the slide on a chambered round? That is a common way to chip the extractor, since the extractor is forced to jump over the rim. When fed from the magazine the extractor slides under the extractor.

No, I did not drop the slide on a round in the chamber nor did the extractor break from 1911 envy

It was good ole IDPA shootin and treating it like the tool she is. Kimberly has asked me several times in my dry practice....aren't you going to break that thing?

The extractor has already been replaced and Glock #1 is back in service. It really wasn't a big deal....she has a twin now that could have stepped in and given a break at any time. It is like a 12th man situation that we have....LOL

Guilty as charged...I need to make sure that thing is still in my safe!

Jbirds,
I notice from the picture that your Extractor appears to be the LCI part. Make certain that, if you order off the web, that you get an LCI Extractor.

Doh! That's stinks about the extractor, glad you got it fixed, though. Even better you had a spare G17 to fall back on. Do you seriously have that many rounds through the one you were using at the last PSC IDPA match?

It has been shot a good bit.....LOL. Yes, the gun has over 10K (conservative estimate) through it. That really doesn't take long on the steel plates.....does it kinny? LOL. I have had that Glock 17 for about 3 1/2 years. I have shot that gun almost exclusively for the last year.

I just got my G17 in August 06 and I have probably 3-5k through it. It's pretty easy to do considering the fact that 9mm is pretty cheap.
What a glorious weapon. I can't wait to see how mine is doing after 10k like yours Jbirds.
To reiterate, if the gun will operate nominally without the extractor, I will try it this weekend at the range, if it doesn't rain. I'll keep you posted!!!

I had the same thing happen with a Glock 21. I just rounded off the broken part with the "Precission Gunsmithing Dremel Tool" and the Glockamole has run for another 4,000 rounds so far.
