I care deeply.....and I want them to stay home or go somewhere else. I also want foreign students to pay more tuition than American citizens when they do come here, especially in Texas.

I'm scared of foreign students. That's one of the reasons I carry a gun. ;-)

I see two options here.

Option 1 - Pass massive new laws that make all counties, cities, and towns that have a college campus OFF LIMITS to guns. Huge "Gun Free" zones, so that foreign students can "feel safer." Better yet, just go ahead and ban all guns in the country. That'll make 'em very happy.

Option 2 - Require all foreign students to attend a gun safety day at a local range, prior to starting classes, where they learn gun safety and are required to pop targets, preferably pretty colored liquid bottles, with a.22lr pistol. When they can't they wipe the smiles off their faces, we can forget option 1.

Bonus - Maybe when they return home they can someday change the ridiculous gun laws in their own countries.

:iagree:
If they don't like it they can put their butt right back on the plane that brought them here. Better yet, they can go to university in Detroit.

A few years ago my son's church had a program for about three years where various members hosted a number of students from France for about a month each summer. All but a rare few had ever touched a firearm, much less shot one. We would take any/all that wanted to go to the range to give them the "experience", and most were anxious to go. It was a blast to see the look on their faces as they transitioned from a .22 rifle to a 30-30 to a 12 ga.,and then a .22 pistol/revolver to 9mm to .45 acp. Towards the end of their month visit at least half of them wanted most to repeat that "event" from their stay, which included a trip to a Rangers Baseball game, Six Flags, shopping and other more "social events". So, it ain't all lost yet ;-)

surv

edit to add: I'm sure I'm on the "watch list" in France

So maybe their countries should consider adding their own 2nd Amendment so they could better understand the "American Way" before coming here. Liberty is precious!

Every time throughout my life when I met/ran across exchange students, college students from other countries, etc, once they knew I was a shooter they all wanted to go shooting...all of them.

We started them out on .22s, then usually after shooting the .22s they wanted to shoot something with more power :). Then we moved up to the 9mms, .357s, .44s and .45s. Most of them instantly recognized the ARs and AKs when we brought them out.

We had fun and they had fun too, especially blowing up water filled milk jugs and 3 liter coke bottles.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr
