Especially if one of those teachers had been former military (combat type) or LEO, and their REAL training had kicked in? (Think of the "Troops to Teachers" program from a while back.) If their training had been remembered or if some of the "victims" had simply given some thought to what they would do ahead of time, the fake attackers could have been serious injured or killed by persons acting completely reasonably in their own defense by seizing one of the blank guns and making a contact shot to the head, or using a chair as an impact weapon.
Luckily nothing bad happened this time, but, IMHO, the folks who put this together showed a depraved indifference to human life.
