I disagree. But it is a pain to get into and out of the car. "rlol"

.380 ammo seems to be getting better all the time. No my preferred carry but I do carry it at times.

I a big proponent of carry the biggest you can. But I am a staunch advocate to always CARRY.

I wouldn't mind carrying a mouse gun in my pocket as a backup, my EDC is the M&P 9c. Our P238 is the only gun my wife wants to carry for various reasons and that's okay. At least she carries it 98% of the time.

My pocket gun (Glock 19) is strapped to my hip everyday without fail.....or it is locked in my truck when I'm at work because I can't carry there. As you stated, I didn't go through all that effort "not to carry".

Don't underestimate what an old man with a pocket .380 can do.

I agree that it is better to carry a small 380 vs nothing at all. Whatever one carries, become proficient with it.

I agree 100% texanjoker .
I have watched that vid when it first came out many times A-R and am totaly amazed by the old dude ! When he realized what was happening he came out of that chair and pressed his attack against two younger guys with much more potential firepower , have wondered if he were ex military or LEO , he never let up .

I've found that it's more complicated than just round size when it comes to choosing the "right" concealed carry weapon. The factors involved and importance level of them will be different for each individual.
There's budget, individual body type, where you carry, how you carry, weather, clothing choice, comfort level, gun weight, attitude, and the list could go on...

I usually carry one of 3 guns They are a 1911C in .45, an SR9C 9mm, and a Coyote Special (aka, Ruger LCP) .380. All the above considered, I usually boil it down to concealment/comfort vs. what I will be wearing and doing on a given day.

If it's winter / cold out, if I don't mind the extra weight, if I have a nice dark patterned collared shirt, or I just want liven up the mundane wal-mart trip by pretending like I am an undercover Samuel L. Jackson, 1911 all the way.
Hot summer days when I am wearing shorts/thin T-shirt, my 1911 grip can make a prominent bump that is fairly obvious. At that point it's between the 9mm and .380. If I am not going to be running around or doing much physical activity, the 9mm comes out. If i am going to be more active or it happens to be a quick trip, the .380 is in the pocket. But I always carry something, everywhere it's legal.

And the most important thing to keep in mind: Even with a puny .380 LCP, that is still 7 chances you have to make the bad guy(s) stop doing whatever it was that made you draw it.

I disagree, the true meaning of the term "firepower" is shots on target, and considering the result, he was the one with the "much more firepower."

I realize that is splitting hairs, kind of like clips and magazines, but just as with those, there is a difference between "firepower" and how big the guns are.

For me, the take away here is, "Never turn your back on an old man!" We are too old and frail to fight, have an aversion to injury(takes a long time to heal now), so we are always armed. You young fellers take note, y'hear?

This is a question I struggled with as well. I prefer to carry my M&P 45c when I can but that is not always possible. Several years ago, I asked two LEOs what they carried when they could not carry a large pistol. The first was a SWAT sniper for HPD. We were out camping at the time I asked. He pulled a Kel Tec 380 out of his pocket. He did state that he practiced with it and was very proficient with it. The second was a Brazoria County Dep. Sheriff that was fairly high up in the organization. He had the same pistol. Both of these men are now retired but I trust their judgement. I got a Ruger LCP and have been practicing with it. I carry it any time I can't carry something larger. I also have an LC9 that will work for pocket carry with 511 pants but I don't care for the thumb safety on the thing. It is surprisingly accurate its size. I recently picked up a XDs in 45 cap. I am going through the break in period now. I have about 100 rounds through it to date and it has been completely reliable. They got it right by not putting the thumb safety on the pistol. It will also fit very nicely in the rear pocket of 511 pants as well with a good pocket holster.

I have a two pronged approach since I cannot carry where I work. I keep a Rohrbaugh R9S in a small Bulldog "cell phone" holster.
This can quickly and discretely go to/from the car console into my cargo pants pocket as I get in or out of my car. I'll pick it up for lunch or after work errands.

If I'm leaving the house directly and not going to work, I'll usually carry my P2000SK on my belt though.
