March 12th, 2013...Clapper testifying before Congressional committee being questioned by Congressman Wyden who has been on the Intelligence Sub-Committee for a number of years:

Wyden: "Can you give me a yes or no answer to this question: Has the NSA collected any kind of data, at all, on millions or hundreds of millions of U.S. citizens?"
Clapper: "No sir."
Wyden: "You have not collected any type of data on U.S. citizens?"
Clapper: "No sir....at least not wittingly".

This answer, although incomplete, was not inacurate to the question that was posed. A complete answer would have been "No sir, I can not give you a yes or no answer to that question"

I have managed to make multiple lists over the years. I have every intention of being included in a few more.

Hey Hal! Over here!

I for one feel much better knowing I am under the watchful, protective eye of Big Brother.

I love Big Brother.

Pardon me wile I wipe away a tear of joy and have another sip of my Victory Gin.

Whahappin?
This country is in real trouble.

“Our” government allows guns to be smuggled to Mexican drug cartels and no one of any consequence is held responsible for it. “Our” government spies on the chief Washington correspondent for Fox News. “Our” government spies on the Associated Press. Now we find out that “our” government grabbed the phone records of over a million Verizon customers, backed by a federal judge.

What has this country turned into? How much more do we not know about because it is kept secret, federal employees are afraid to “blow the whistle” and reporters would be afraid to report it if they did?

I have truly begun to fear “our” government. I would lay odds that “our” government has someone monitoring this forum and every other pro gun forum on the web. I would also lay odds that they have looked into the background of more than a few people that post to these forums.

This government is paranoid and it is about more than terrorism. Remember when “our” government labeled returning veterans “potential terrorists”?

I could go on and on with examples of an out of control government. We have a president that “doesn’t know” what the people that work for him are doing or can’t control them. Either way, he should not be president.

I am beginning to wonder if the DOJ has something on Obama. Oh well, I guess I will have the government checking my background now.

All that is just the tip of the iceberg, and when the really bad stuff comes out, you'll look back on all this as not really so bad in comparison to the reality we'll be facing at the time.

There are a few examples of terrorist plots being intercepted, but I notice the entire system fails spectacularly all too often in stopping terrorists. People like the Fort Hood terrorist and the Boston bombers. Their obvious descent into radical extremism was ignored. It seems perhaps the upper management of our government is really far more eager to employ all of this to watch the voting masses and record staggering amounts of information. With the advent of computers powerful enough to make sense out of all that data, the day arrived when our government could be almost god-like in it's ability to find out just about anything about anyone. What despotic person could ever resist that much power?
"Terrorism" is a red herring. If you listen to what they get caught saying every once in awhile, they tell us straight out: terrorist attacks are good, they need one every now and again to further their agenda, which is the subordination and complete control of American citizens.
