Dude
SHE SHOT AT A FAMILY IN A CAR. Prosecute her to the fullest extent of the law, then put her under the jail with maximum sentence.

Having just returned from two family trips, one involving some backwwods of WV, I'm not real down with shooting at random cars even if they are uninvited. While I can have sympathy for her mistake (elderly, demintia, whatever), I cannot condone her taking the law into her own hands. When a wrong turn is grounds for death, something is bad out of allignment. Crazy might involve spike strips or the like, not sending lead at my kids.

My apology that my wording was too subtle, I guess my command of our language is weak and ineffectual, please forgive a mere mechanic. It was suggested that she had some sort of other illicit activities that were the root cause of her shooting at those folks. I posited a scenario to show that maybe it was not any engagement in illegal activities that motivated her, just her own personal bad judgement. I will endeavor to persevere in removing ambiguity in future responses. For the record, I never said that I believed her actions to be acceptable.

Maybe the people in the car were buying undocumented pharma and there was a business disagreement. Or maybe it happened like K.Mooneyham suggests. I don't know. However, looking at the ammount for bail, I bet the charges will get dropped if the out of towners don't bother comng back to testify.

I don't know, I really doubt she went out and inspected the occupants of the car before she opened fire so I really don't think that point is valid. What she did was a bit stupid to put it lightly regardless of who was in the car.

What she did was attempted murder.

Ain't there a feud goin' on in that neck o' de woods? Mebe she waz a Hatfield and she reckons de car waz fulla McCoys?
Look up "Battle of Blair Mountain", a clash of 13,000 armed men in WV, Matewan massacre, Hatfield and McCoy feud, moonshiners vs reveneuers (BATF), and present-day marijuana growers vs Feds.
WV is not a state you wanna drive onto a stranger's property in.

Parts of WV are becoming bedroom communities for DC but I think this happened in Tennessee anyway.

I would not be surprised to learn that the targeted car had a Florida Gator sticker of some sort on it.
