That's some amazing wad.
That is completely consistent with my results with the Federal no. 1 buckshot. You do not want to be on the wrong end of that stuff!

That looks like the same results I got with the #1. The #4 20 gauge personal defense was similar but about double the size.Imagine what that does to the silver dollar size wound. 15 .30 caliber balls in such a small area.

The pictures AndyC posted above were fired from my Mossberg 930 SPX seen in
this thread.
That's a 18.5" cylinder bore barrel. The ammo was the Federal Personal Defense 00 buck with the FliteControl wad (PD132 00). That's 9 copper plated lead balls going through each of those little holes. I find it very interesting that you can even see stippling from the shot buffer on the 15 yard shot.
I have a limited amount of that loading, but have more of the Law Enforcement load (LE133 00), which only has 8 pellets. I wouldn't feel under-armed with that stuff, either. Either one is probably gonna put a half-dollar sized hole all the way through an intruder.
I actually would rather have the #1 buck (LE132 1B), but I haven't been able to find it anywhere.
If anyone is interested, I usually get the LE133 00 from GT Distributors in Dallas.

I got mine (No. 1 Buck) from GT in Austin close to a year ago. When I called them in Nov-Dec or so to order more, I was told the back order was over 30,000 rounds of that item alone.

That is impressive. When I pick up a new 12 gauge to replace what I've sold (long story), I believe there will be some Federal #1 buck being purcahsed at the same time.

I'm finding the Federal Flight Control 00 Buck for sale online, but not the #1 reduced recoil load.

Over in the other thread (
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=68165" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) JALLEN turned me on to this link:
http://www.ammunitiondepot.com/Federal- ... 321b-a.htm (pay no attention to what the link says, They're the right ones, as you can see on that web page.)
They aren't cheap, but they are available.

So, you're going to give them 2 nasty rashes before you really get serious?

Got to see if they're dedicated. I've got one in the chamber ready to go so they won't get the warning of the action...
