The STI Spartan is made in the Philippines, I believe. It's like a Citadel or an RIA - both great 1911s. They're going for around $625 or so. Definitely look into one of those.

As I understand it, Armscor (parent company of RIA & Citadel) provides the frames & slides, which STI then builds into pistols. :tiphat:

The only issues I have had are the barrel bushing is very tight and you need the wrench to remove it. I polished the feed ramp because it was not shiny enough for me. Finish on the exterior is not as pretty as my Kimber even though the Kimber was an early model without an amazing blue finish. The trigger pull is within 1/2 lb. of the Kimber custom Target at slightly less than 4 lbs.
