TXi may be on to something there a few posts back. The only "enforceable" thing the co-op could do is possibly start eviction proceedings if the lease agreement was broken, but it still would not be criminal trespassing. I believe that you could fight the eviction in civil court but it would probably be easier AND CHEAPER to just go live somewhere else that respects your rights as a citizen of this country.

There's quite a few more than one of them in Austin, so probably not the same place. There are 9 houses in my organization, and there is a couple of others in Austin - some smaller, some immensely bigger. Austin is full of housing co-ops. Which house were you looking at?
