90% of people don't keep their New Years resolutions so I resolve to lose less than 15 pounds in 2014. Either way I win.

Since I've quit smoking, and am now in my 50's, I want to pass a Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test.........24 years after I got out. I want to do it by the end of the new year.

I made a humorous set of resolutions (apologies if it's too off-topic).

That's an excellent goal! I quit smoking over 3 months ago - perhaps I could see if I could pass my old South African Defense Force fitness test

And so it begins.....
I've been using an app called "Ease Into 5K" to work into the 3 mile run and it's working well! Once I'm at the point that I can go 3 miles in relative comfort, I'll start interval training to better my times.
I've got another app that I use for situps that break down your workouts into sets to be performed everyday with short breaks between sets (It's by Runtastic if anyone is interested).
My first goal is to pass the PFT with a third class score: 65 out of 300
Minimums for my age group are:
Pull-ups--3
Crunches--40 in two minutes
3 mile run--33:00
Come on AndyC........Join me!
