The M&P is a great gun, too. See what ergos you prefer and which one has the best trigger to you.

I think everyone should have a Glock 19, though.

Don't currently own any Glock's right now but I have owned several including a 22, 23, and a 27. I owned the 27 for the longest, a little over ten years, before I switched over to 1911's. I really regret selling the 27 as I felt it was the best bang for the buck concealed handgun for the cost, weight, and firepower at the time I purchased it. Hopefully in a couple of months I'll be back into Glock's with a 19.

Getting back onto the original topic. If you can only own one and it will also be a home defense gun, go with the 19. My reasoning for recommending the 19 is so that you can use a weaponlight with it. That was the one thing I missed when I switched over to carrying a 1911 and finally got a Springfield Armory Lightweight Champion Operator. IMO, any night stand gun should have a light mounted to it so they are always together.

Well I have some GREAT news and some crappy news.

Great news: My wife can shoot the G19 something wicked.

Crappy news: The G19 is really uncomfortable for me to shoot. The trigger guard bites pretty hard into my second knuckle on my middle finger. So I think the G19 is out for me.

The wife wasnt thrilled by the lack of grip or thumb safeties "we are a 1911 household" but she was shooting at one of those targets with the 4 diamonds in the corners and the big target in the center, looks something like this.

X X

O

X X

After practicing with 5 rounds she proceeded to put 2 shots in each diamond and 2 in the center in a very very short amount of time. I was seriously impressed and was just smiling when she turned around! (Gun was set down on the bench) :) otherwise I woulda hand my hands up in the air.

Hard to believe she used to not even want to look at my guns!!!!

Try the G26 with the GAP finger rest for the 10rd magazine. It makes all the difference in the world.

Actually I think the G26 with the G19 magazine was more comfortable just holding in the store. Dont know how it would feel shooting.

I will probably try it and the M&P 9C next time we go.

I dremeled out some material and smoothed up my G19 under the trigger guard and it was night and day difference.

I've handled Glocks that were modified like this and am planning to touch mine up a bit. It doesn't take much to make a huge difference in comfort.

It doesn't take much at all. This is all I removed and it felt great.
