Since many CHL's carry several loaded magazines; maybe three shots {pause} followed by one shot {pause} then three more shots(SOS) into the air would send a signal of distress and call for backup?

Can't be serious. I'd take my chances calling for police instead of the untucked shirt militia.

Kensterfly wrote:A post in another thread got me to thinking. If you were in a large crowd situation (parade, street fair, pre-game tailgating, Saturday afternoon WalMart parking lot) and trouble came your way, wouldn't it be nice to yell out a verbal signal that would bring other CHL holders running to assist you?

Sort of like the Highlanders of Scotland once used: "A Douglas!! A Douglas!! and the whole clan would come rushing into the glen, claymores drawn. A similar number of responders might be the result in Texas!

One board member said his instructor suggested yelling "CHL!!! CHL!!" You'd need something that would easily be heard and understood by the CHL community.
Maybe a simple Carry! Carry! Carry! Of course, the word would have to get out throughout the land for this to work.

Just wondering.
I would be willing to bet that what the instructor suggested was that if you were in a situation where you had to draw your weapon in a crowed area that you yell, "CHL, CHL" in order to keep another CHL from shooting you thinking you were the BG. To me this is a much better idea than a CHL badge.

If I am in need of help for an encounter, I'm sure the sound of gunfire will summon all the aid and problems I could handle.

Now thats executive thinking right there. Alternatively shouting Look! "Bricks of .22s for sale!" might do it. I know I'd bend light to get there if I heard that...

My shirt is tucked 95% of the time during my working hours. For your benefit, it will remain so while you wait for the police to show up to take pictures of the crime scene and make a report.

Thread has morphed into silliness... Personally - I would not want extra bodies cluttering my field of operation. At the first "ground - now!" there should be a clear field. Carry on... :tiphat:
