A Private business can obtain a "Letter of Authority" which is a type of license that allows in-house guards.

There are also provisions for schools, but I will have to look that up. I'll do that tomorrow. (just got off a LONG surveillance, I'm tired)

At any rate, you could change into uniform if needed. Contrary to what most people think, an armed guard does not have to wear the typical "semi-police" type uniform. He could wear, just for example; a Polo shirt and slacks, so long as the company name is on the uniform, the word Security is on the uniform, and the persons last name is displayed.

That can be accomplished by a chest logo and embroidered name and "Security" emblem, or even a Oxford style shirt with a pocket insert that has the above information you could clip into the pocket when needing to be security.

DPS has to approve of the uniform (you send a pic) but as long as it meets the above requirements, they will approve. Only approved uniforms can be worn.
