anyway, by definition Deadly Force means, not only death, but great physical harm, including, but not limited to, losing one's limb, or the threat of losing one's limb.

he was attacked by a Dawg. not a dog. a Dawg!
he was forced to protect his wife (pushed her out of the way, she fell, was slightly injured), and took a severe bite on the upper arm (humerus).
Could have punctured his artery, pert near did, and he'da been up that creek we all know so well.
without a paddle.
not to mention infection (yes, I realize how clean a dog's mouth is....), blood loss alone could have affected not only his arm, but his life.
sounds like Deadly Force came into play in that situation, don'tcha think?
but I hear ya, people don't really need to cap a dog everytime one rolls up on'em.
