Goes to show that even single-shot firearms will be targeted by the antis - so again, it emphasizes that there really is no point in acquiescing to anti-gun groups on even the smallest of things.
If that guy's 11y old son didn't know any better than to point a torch into other peoples' eyes then the problem might be genetic.
Aussie English: torch = flashlight
Using the example of pointing a flashlight as proof that they would also point a gun is absurd, nonetheless.

People would not smack the kid for pointing a flashlight. They just might if he had a gun.

When you ban guns interesting crimes start happening. Never heard of Glassing before. Australia may go to plastic glasses to curb the violence.

Here is an implicit message:
In a joint stance with senior police from around Australia, NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione last month nominated alcohol-related violence as the force's "number one priority".
Mr Scipione, a noted teetotaller, described the state as "drowning in alcohol" but named central Sydney and Newcastle as trouble spots.
Well-qualified nanny-state mentality.

Funny, I thought they'd been banned already.

An Australian lawmaker gives Texas as an example where people can defend themselves.
Some hope.

Horrible.
Now the left moaning because gun rights advocates are politicizing the deaths of children. <ahem>

It takes a special kind of evil to stab children to death.
And what a stack of lies:
"As it stands at the moment, there's no need for the public to be concerned about this other than the fact that it's a tragic, tragic event," Asnicar said. "The situation is well controlled at the moment. There shouldn't be any concern for anyone else out of this environment."

I used to think highly of Australia a few decades ago, that I could possibly enjoy living there. Not any more. It's too bad they've become a nation of fools. Then again, we're blindly and rapidly hurtling down the same road. I don't think there's a decent place to live left anywhere on the planet anymore.

We are retiring in seven years and have bought a place where they welcome Americans, seaside homes are reasonably priced, and they leave you alone or even embrace you if you volunteer for humanitarian work. Even more important, you can have your guns shipped to you and keep them in your home (even if the government has to know about them).
Also, all residents get 2,000 channels of satellite TV free of charge!

OK... I'll bite. Where is this Shangri-La? (I'm betting I'm stepping into a trap.)

I'll narrow it down to two countries. It's on the Gibralter Strait. :)

That means either Morocco or Spain... being that I do not know much about either country, I'd imagine that Americans are more welcome to a Southern Europe country than an African, but if Spain is anything like the rest of Europe, it likely has stringent gun laws, while Morocco does not... I'm going to have to guess Morocco since you mentioned the humanitarian aid.
