Any ad with Gumbel in it should lead to a boycott of the advertiser, I change my wife's TV station when he comes on.

Normally, I would agree, but he didn't get to veer from the script in this one and it used footage from a couple decades ago with the two of them. As with many of these commercials, the content had little to do with the product being advertised. I still thought the premise was funny.

Doesn't matter to me if he followed the script, he still needs to be muzzled. Yes, he has a right to free speech, but not inflammatory stuff like he is responsible for, he has insulted me directly, as a member of the NRA, and deserves to be censured.

I understand what you're saying and that's why I'm pointing out that he didn't speak freely, which you say he has a right to do. The powers that be also probably didn't want him speaking freely after the barrage of complaints they've received over that other nutbag going on his anti-2A rant a couple years ago.

And my point is, until he apologizes to me and every other NRA member that he insulted, anyone using him for advertising deserves to be boycotted. It doesn't matter if they want to muzzle him now, he already said what he did.

I agree. IMHO Pete has paid the price or his wrongdoing and deserves to be in the HOF. I think he will eventually get there posthumously.

Although it was not a commercial I thought that John Legend singing America the Beautiful was truly memorable and very well done. For those who did not hear it just Google it and take a listen. A plus is that the Patriots won in a nail biter. Maybe the best overall Super Bowl ever.....

I am offended that so many of the players from the last two decades are in and he isn't. That also applies to the NFL. So many criminals and we're constantly told to only look at their on field performance.

Quite a large number of pro athletes have been found to be seriously, condemnably criminal.

Pete Rose's criminality is quite minor to most of them...
