Hey, thanks for reminding me about them! I've bought stuff there before, but not in a while; I usually find better .45 ACP FMJ prices elsewhere. But they consistently have a pretty good selection, and particularly on Winchester Ranger in most calibers--+P and standard, and occasionally some bonded--and specialty 12-gauge shells.

As range ammo Blazer Brass is in same category as the standards (WWB, rem UMC, S&B) and the brass (in 45 acp) is same general quality.

Monarch comes in brass and aluminum(steel?) case. The Brass cases seem also to be same general quality for reloading but I would never shoot this ammo as the nitrate in the propellant seems (based upon smell) to be extracted from polecat urine. I mean it really stinks.

A point of information, depending on how much you shoot, you really don't need huge amounts of brass as long as you are pretty careful picking up your brass. 1000 pieces is probably enough with maybe another 250 for every additional shooter. There are a couple of sources listed here for range brass including llwatson I think plus the guy Charles gets his from.

I asked how many rounds in that $20 Winchester box?....and what grain bullets are they, please?

daddySEAL, the picture posted above is an actual photo of the box end. Looks like 100 rounds to me and 165 grain bullets.

To th eperson asking about the Blazer Brass, that's what I use for my range ammo in my XD and my Kimber. I find it to be no dirtier than the WWB or Remington UMC. I've shot in the neighborhood of 1000 rounds through with no problems whatsoever. At $9.27 per box of 50 at WalMart that still seems to be the best deal to me. 45ACP runs 10.97 per 50. That's cheaper than I can even buy commercially reloaded ammo at the gun shows. Last gun show 500 rounds of 45ACP was $135. Even with tax around here the Blazer Brass is $118 and some change for 500 rounds.

OK, I bought some of that 165 grain a month or so ago, and shot only one box(still have the othe 4 saved in the closet) Those 165s seem almost twice as powerful in recoil as the 180s I usually get and target practice with. 165s are a Much Hotter round. I'll save them until I'm ready to move up to the 30 yard target distance.

Oh Yes, guys..... I shoot for about 3 hrs every weekend WITH my fiance and my 4 young adult kids all shooting at the same time. We go thru "boatloads" of rounds!!!!

Then I'd suggest that you seriously look into reloading. If you shoot that much, then you may as well get a Dillon progressive loader so you can really crank out the rounds.

I have considered reloading as well, but Glock and almost everyone else state that using reloaded or re-manufactured ammunition will void any warranty that the gun has. But in reality, how would they know the quality of my ammo?

I don't shoot all that much to make reloading worth it to me, but perhaps in a couple years if I keep at it, I'll toy with the idea again.
