I could be remembering it incorrectly. Watch Paw-Paw's video linked above. That is one of the videos I had seen before where I got my information from.AlaskanInTexas wrote:Not an expert, but it is my understanding that the angle of the windshield from outside would turn the bullet down (somewhat counterintuitivly) and from the inside would turn it up. So from inside you would need to aim low.C-dub wrote: The slanted front and rear windows do cause a downward deflection of the first round or two until there is enough of a hole that it doesn't matter any longer. So, the tactic for the first shot through the windshield is to aim the first 1-2 shots a little higher. Same goes for shooting from the outside through a windshield. I don't know exactly how much the deflection is, but from a view of the videos I've seen on the subject, a few inches should be enough.

Re: Ever Considered Shooting Through Your Vehicle Windshield
I just watched the video and AlaskinTexas is correct. I did misremember the deflection when shooting from inside the vehicle. As stated in the video, the deflection will be toward a perpendicular angle from the glass surface. So, for the first shot from inside through the front windshield, the first shot will be deflected upward, while follow up shots will be less effected or the effect will be negligible due the the integrity of the glass being compromised from the first shot. At least in that spot.
