Taking pics; will check later. I'm with a bunch of people and have little control of where we go. Hence, the guns are left in the hotel room.
Maybe you're hanging out with the wrong people?

I live just north of SA, I'm in SA all the time, I never run across signs....I don't know what you're talking about. I've never found it to be unfriendly at all.

I live here - carry daily. Other than the normal 30.06 or 51%, Federal/City government, medical buildings, I seldom see any gun buster signs of any nature. I know many of the downtown hotels and other touristy locales have 30.06. I've seen no indication that SATX is not gun friendly nor recall any city government officials wailing about them. We have no lack of gun ranges within a 25 mi. radius of the city.

A few weeks ago I could have almost said the same except I went to Top Golf and their 30.06 sign is impossible to miss.

I guess I must just naturally gravitate towards places that are not unfriendly for gun owners because I travel around Austin more than any other city in the state and I've only encountered one 30.06 sign at a place I want or have to go to --and it's a place I have to go to as part of my job. I haven't encountered a single place in Austin I wanted to go to that has a 30.06 sign. And since with that one noted exception for work, since I only go to places I want to, I haven't seen but the one 30.06 sign in Austin.
And I hear SA is not gun friendly too, but while my travel there is much more limited, I never seem to end up anywhere that has a 30.06 sign when I do go. Same with Houston. It will happen some day I suppose, but my wife knows (and agrees) that we're not spending money at any business that openly proclaims it doesn't like guns, so there's no point in asking me to leave my gun in the car.
The only place in Austin I've seen with a 30.06 is Sprouts grocery, and I have absolutely no problem not giving them my money. I'm sure there are others and I don't go to 6th Street, but I've not seen them.

i'll be spending a weekend on the riverwalk in april and i've checked the hotel's website and i can't find anything about weapons or the required nomenclature that they are 30.06. that doesn't mean it won't be there when we arrive but i'll update if i see any.

Hey
I will be visiting SA this weekend for a little vacation with the family. Anyone know any tourist spots with 30.06 signs to steer clear of like the zoo or any where downtown?
Thanks

That is quite true but I've encountered more than one in my time in San Antonio. Never said the city was plastered with them...

What do you mean San Antonio isn't gun friendly?
I live on the southeast side of town and I hear gunshots at night and even during broad daylight on a regular basis.
Not joking!

By that standard Chicago is gun friendly too. My son lives in University housing and if his windows are open it's not uncommon for him to hear gunshots either.

Heck, I've heard automatic gunfire at night in certain parts of Dallas.
Back in the 80's and 90's, you would get pulled over and harassed in some parts of San Antonio just because you had a gun hanging in your pickup's rifle rack.
I can't remember the last time I saw a pickup with a rifle rack anywhere, much less one with a gun in it.

Still see some gun racks in older pickups here in Central Texas. The older farmers have their canes and fishing poles on them.
