Those items are in Sections 42, 43 and 44 of Government Code 411.

There IS some wording changes of the existing 30.06, and the addition to the new 30.07.

IMO, those changes are necessary to accomodate open carry.

I really don't see where the confusion is though.
I'm sure it was on my part. My brain starts to shut down earlier than my body these days.

So I'm just going to assume old 30.06 signs will become invalid unless they update with the current wording? Just wondering how people would treat the old signs in 2016 if they are encountered...

I would not want to try to convince a jury that a change in a few words meant I had not received notice.

What about all those signs that reference the old 29eee Vernon Code? I agree it would probably be an uphill battle in court, but we often debate the minutia and clear wording of the law around here.

I really hope the debate hits home that it's already illegal to carry while intoxicated when the Dems bring up the "blood in the streets" argument in bars. Of course alcohol and guns don't mix, but not all 51% locations are bars (See: Moody Theatre/ACL Live in Austin) and not everyone going to a bar is there to drink. (Designated driver, comedy show, etc.)
Keep calm and carry.

I'm pretty sure I heard Bass Performance Hall had a big drunken brawl at the symphony the other night.

When it comes to the minutiae of law, you never want a jury trial. This is strictly a judge-only scenario....esp. if you get a judge that is a stickler to the letter of the law.
