I have not named any of my guns. But I think that I will after reading some posts here. It makes since to not say the word gun out in public. But my wife is still not sure she likes it when I carry. So for now, I carry even conceled to her.

Yep, I started out naming mine....Gabi, Poni, Eli, QB, Silvi, Snipe, Swiss Miss....unfortunately I'm not very creative and still have 14 more handguns to name.........might have to rethink the whole naming thing

That is my oldest Granddaughter's name too. I will use it to name my next 1911 as long as it is not a 5" stainless. Them jist aint lady like.

Not much on naming inanimate objects but, the name Cary for any shooting iron you may be toting might be appropiate. As in - - - "Honey do you know where Cary is?"

You guys gotta quit giving me suggestions. That is my Daughter in Law's name.

Just for the sake of conversation, one reason I agreed with my wife and daughter to name the guns is because when something gets named around here, it stays.
I was going to raise a calf in the feedlot for the freezer once and the second time we went by to see it my daughter had come up with a name for it. The calf stayed there and is probably on someone else's table now. I told them not to name food because I had no intention of feeding a cow to a ripe old age.
This way I never have to sell my guns although that is always an "excuse" I use to buy one. " I can buy it now, cheap, and sell it later for a profit." It's worked so far.
Back to naming weapons, does anyone know that "Enola Gay" gave "Little Boy" a ride to Japan until he was kicked out over a place called Hiroshima?
That was back on August 5, 1945. "Enola Gay" was the plane, "Little Boy" was the atomic bomb and that was primarily the end of WWII!
Naming weapons is nothing new.
We get together and have a little ceremony after each gun purchase. It's kinda like a welcome home christening.
We now have Annie, Bubba, Betsy, Don Carlos, Molly, Woody, Buck, Tootie, Snubby, Shooter, Roxie, Chrissy, Daisy May and, of course last but not least, my wife's beloved new "Josephine".
Heck, my machete is "Banana Man" and my hunting knife is "Gutcha" (not "gotcha").
This could get outa hand!

I have kinda been calling mine the ( equalizer 9) I feel it helps make me equal to most of the BG out there that carry a 9MM.

In the Navy, I called my my five inch gun "Christine" because she had a tendency to break down at critical moments, kind of like my ex-girlfriend at the time.

Blackie, George, Norm, Artie, Doc, The Colonel, and The Shogun are a few in my safe or on my hip now.

I have a Brown Bess I call Bessy.
I have a .45cal Thompson Center Hawkins I call tommy
My Ruger P95 is called Anna. after Anna Nicole.
Big, Cheap and with plastic parts. Anna the Ruger is still functioning and will probably live to be older than Anna Nicole did.

I don't really have a name for my smaller carry gun; I usually just refer to it as the "little one" if I'm talking to relative or close friend in public.

My 1911 is called my "big girl" gun. That's about as close as I've gotten to naming anything.

We do have a miniature schnauzer named Baxter. He functions primarily as an alarm system, although he mainly warns us of other dogs. He also has a very trashy mouth.

Me thinks I may have overthought this gun naming thing a tad. Maybe just "This here gun" and "That there gun".
