It had to do with Waco.....not any particular event. :txflag:

I've read of other interesting events from this same group.

I wish there was a group doing these kinds of things in the Houston area.

Thanks for the topic! :thumbs2:

It was and you're welcome. The room clearing exercises can be very nerve-wracking if you take them seriously, especially if you are alone. Not something I would do unless there's no other way. But the event was very enjoyable with a good group of guys and gals.
Uh-huh - alone is highly not-recommended, but I've had to do that on many occasions and it'll sure make a guy create diamonds.
Not to be off-topic, but I had occasion to do just that a couple of weeks ago. Nobody was home and everyone thought I was upstairs taking a nap when they left. I came home to no alarm set, unlocked back doors, and one door slightly ajar. I was already inside so for whatever reason I decided to just clear the house by myself. Downstairs was no problem, but that staircase sure made me stop and think. I missed that hand on my back - a lot!

I'm too old to be doing that stuff.

Please sign up on our forum at http://www.combativestraininggroup.com/forum/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, post in the Introductions area that you are from Houston and interested in this kind of training, and see what happens. We have groups in Killeen, Waco, off and on in Austin, and DFW area because some guys just decided to get together and do something.

This particular event was our 6th anniversary one, and it originally started in Austin in public parks. Basically some guys in central Texas wanted training partners to practice empty-hand and knife training so they agreed to meet in the parks, since no one had a room big enough or a gym or what-have-you. They got so me strange looks sometimes, and occasionally a cop would drive by and look things over, but no one bothered them. I joined after that first summer. As time went on, we added handguns, rifles, airsoft, etc.

Please at least come to the forum and sign in, say hi, maybe we can scare up something for you.
