Ah memories. I still have my Viet Nam KaBar. A gift from my platoon sgt, when he rotated. I was a green 2ndLt, and he trained me. His name is scratched in the scabbard. I will never part with it.

I had one of those and carried it daily while out on field exercises when I was at Ft. Sill back in 1970.

For some reason, Air Force and Survival Knife don't feel right being in the description. Makes me picture a Swiss Army knife with a corkscrew, a bottle opener and nail clippers on it.

If you order the KaBar,I don't think you will be real happy with the quality of the sheath.The real military sheaths were good,the civilian ones not so good

I volunteered for the schools that kept me from having to SERE :)

Huh? The Air Force's knife was 2" shorter than the Ka-bar, but that was the only difference. Nothing extra on it like a corkscrew or other stuff. The length difference was primarily a function of where the knife was worn, on the survival vest as opposed to the waist location of the Marine's Ka-bar.

I have an original issue Ka-Bar I carried for many years along with a Commemorative USMC stamped Ka-Bar and wouldn't give them up for anything. I have zero experience with knockoffs...
