If you look at one of the old-style Glock cases, it's immediately obvious why "Tupperware" refers to the cases, because the cases seal exactly like a Tupperware container. But if you want to revel in your ignorance, go ahead I guess.

It was a striker fired pistol though. Maybe "Tupperware Leg'"is more appropriate.
FYI the "Tupperware" meme refers to the old-style Glock storage cases, not the gun's frames themselves, so it's not even accurate for Glocks any more, as they haven't been sold with those cases for almost a decade.
The fact that some folks run their Glocks through the dishwasher for cleaning suggests that the original reason for the name may need to be expanded.

Pass the popcorn, would you? :)
You might want to check the extractor on that one... you've got a failure to eject.

You are probably right on the striker fired model as I haven't kept up with the story. I only read the linked article which stated that it was a Springfield 45 but at the time it was unknown if it was a 1911 Style Springfield or a striker fired.
Either way, my prayers go out to the family of the deceased.
Carry safe everyone.
My apologies if my post sidetracked the thread.

Ummm, no. Tupperware did not, and does not refer to the firearm itself... just the storage case.

No, I wasn't sure what you were talking about, but I think I found the other thread. I get it now, he likes that ancient Browning designed pistol.

Honor this man's life. Learn from what killed him. Paint every scenario you can imagine that led to his death, modify your techniques if you discover a problem, and remember it's what you didn't anticipate that just might get you.

Reholster any gun with care and deliberation. Like takeoff and landing in an airplane, drawing and holstering requires discipline.

Well put. Let us respect the life that was lost...and learn from it.

As for me I will still follow a major rule of gun safety...never point the barrel of your gun at anything you wouldn't want to shoot.
