Could, and with our insane immigration policy and open borders no doubt will eventually....but the logistics make staging attacks here more difficult than in Europe, so we will probably see more loan wolf attacks from sympathizers already living here and fewer less coordinated group attacks with more time between each one. The ongoing invasion of Europe spells lots more trouble to come over there.AJSully421 wrote:I know what you mean. There is someone with some heavy security locally... like MP5 type security. People like that are all over the place, maybe even in Bedford.ELB wrote:Well, no, not necessarily. The "kill list" is a list of individuals as targets for assassination, not locations for Paris-type mayhem. There is someone on their list who they believe to be a military member with ties to Bedford TX, which could be accurate -- the guy might have grown up there and enlisted, and it is listed as his home of record, or he has facebook pictures of his family there, etc.AJSully421 wrote:Bedford?!?!?! That's how you know that they are full of it.
Heck, maybe the Chinese are passing along info from the database of security clearances they burgled.![]()
Yes the article is a few months old, but that doesn't necessarily mean the information is not current. The various violent Islamic groups have shown great patience in planning for and striking targets, they think ahead farther than a news cycle or two - more like two thousand, or ten thousand news cycles ahead. They have long encouraged individual Muslims to launch attacks on service members and others, and quite a number have taken them up on it (e.g. recruiting center attacks, Fort Dix, Fort Hood). This are often dismissed as non-terrorist, more motivated by mental illness, but the fact that many of them had mental problems does not mean the al Qaeda/ISIS versions of Islam were not significant factors goading them into striking and helping them select targets. In the past the targets have been arbitrary -- any service member would do -- but it appears ISIS is trying now trying to give the lone-wolf types specific targeting information.
Stay calm and carry... and check six.
I heard on the radio that someone had asked one security expert on one of the cable news morning shows if a Paris-like attack could happen here in the US... They brought up Aurora, Fort Hood, the Navy Yard in DC, Newtown, and then said, "Yeah, I think that IS could do that here". One CHLer with a Glock 19 up against 4-6 terrorists with AKs and bomb belts; I don't like those odds.
You are on your own out there... act accordingly.
